Day 1: Tangier – Fez
First, the Tangier desert tour 5 days . Pick up upon your arrival in Tangier and depart towards Fez. The road from Tangier begins by crossing the Rif Mountains, and Tetouan, and enjoying the view of the beautiful mountains until reaching Chefchaouen. An impressive village nestled between the Rif Mountains, founded by Arabs expelled from Andalusia by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492. Its old town has a Spanish style and is surrounded by many commercial shops. A stroll through its blue-painted streets is a true marvel, combined with its Rifian atmosphere. Continue to Fez, considered the religious and cultural center of the country. Accommodation in a Riad/Hotel. Dinner will be at your Hotel/Riad.
Day 2: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we will leave Fez towards Ifrane, also known as the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco. We will make a stop to discover this incredible city. Additionally, Azrou, a beautiful cedar forest, is home to endangered Barbary macaques, which are actually monkeys.
Once we arrive, it will be a good opportunity to take photos of the wooden forests in Morocco, the cedar forest, and wild monkeys in the Azrou cedar forest. Your lunch will be in Midelt, the city of apples and minerals, at a typical restaurant. We will then continue our journey to the Ziz Valley, where we will make a stop to take photos of the panoramic view of the valley. Next, we will visit Erfoud, the ancient date market, and the fossil workers. Once we reach Merzouga, you will check into your accommodation(s) for the night and have dinner.
Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomad Visit – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, we will embark on a great desert journey in a 4×4 vehicle, passing through the two oases of Merzouga, the nomad settlement. Then, we will visit the village of Khamlia, also known as the “village of the blacks,” where you will stop to enjoy Gnawa music. Afterward, we will visit the Mifiss mines and meet the Berber nomads of the desert. The Tissardmine oasis. Return to the hostel around 3 pm for a caravan departure on camels to witness the magical sunset over the dunes. We will sleep behind the large dunes of Erg Chebbi in a luxury camp, located 1 hour and 30 minutes away by camel, in the heart of the desert. Berber animation and music to the rhythm of Berber drums, dinner, and accommodation at the camp.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Midelt
Breakfast and shower, and we continue our journey to Rissani. We will stroll through what is known as the most authentic and traditional souk in the area, one of the largest in the south of the country, where all kinds of handicrafts, food, and animals are traded. We then continue via Erfoud, crossing the impressive Ziz Valley. What was originally just a river timidly eroding the rock of the mountains is now an immense palm grove over 20 kilometers long, with over 18,000 palm trees. Free time to walk through the palm grove. Later, we will continue the journey until we reach Midelt. Dinner and accommodation at a hotel.
Day 5: Midelt – Azrou – Tangier
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will depart towards Tangier, making several stops along the way so that you can enjoy the most interesting places of the journey. We are confident that these stops will allow you to appreciate the beautiful landscapes of Morocco and get to know the culture and people of the country in a more authentic and close manner. Arrival in Tangier marks the end of the Tangier desert tour 5 days . This concludes our services.
